As spooky season approaches, zombies may be on your mind. Have you ever considered that there may be a zombie in your own home? No, not last year's costume in the back of your closet or the classic horror movie on your streaming app. We're talking about your computer becoming a "zombie," infected with malware and controlled by hackers who want your personal information.

Starting as a teller at PACU, Margie Finney worked her way up to Eden Branch Manager, and now she’s proudly serving as a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor. For Margie, the most rewarding part of her role is helping people find solutions to their financial struggles. 

Get to know April Young, one of Piedmont Advantage Credit Union’s newest Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors. April manages the University Branch at PACU and has been with the company for over 23 years. 

On October 17, 2024, credit unions worldwide will come together to celebrate International Credit Union Day®. This year’s theme, One World Through Cooperative Finance, highlights credit unions’ unique role in making financial services accessible to everyone.

When you hear the phrase “estate planning,” what do you picture? 

Some may think of a large mansion on acres of land being passed down through generations. Others may imagine the reading of the Will of a wealthy great aunt. While this is sometimes the case, the truth is estate planning is not just for the rich, it’s for everyone.

In the spirit of Simply Service®, Piedmont Advantage Credit Union employees rolled up their sleeves and got to work at eight different service-oriented organizations on October 14, also known at PACU as Simply Service® Day.

While other financial institutions were closed for Columbus or Indigenous Peoples Day, PACU employees put in action our purpose statement, “Simply Service®.”

Each year since 1992, we celebrate National Customer Service Week during the first week of October. 

This year, during National Customer Service Week, as we are coming to the end of a year-long celebration of our 75th anniversary, we reflect on the 22-year history and evolution of our Call Center.

Piedmont Advantage Credit Union (PACU) celebrated its 75th Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, commemorating its long history of service while outlining a vision for future growth. President & CEO Dion Williams delivered inspiring remarks emphasizing PACU’s unwavering support for its members and the communities it serves.

There are two methods of digging out of debt, the snowball and avalanche. Both are similar in that they have you focus on a particular account while paying the minimum on all others. And when you’ve paid off one account, you redirect whatever money you allocated for it to the next one.

But when you do the math and learn more about each method, the avalanche option usually will get you out of debt faster. But here’s the catch.

The internet has become a massive marketplace, offering everything from the latest gadgets to handcrafted furniture. While the convenience is undeniable, it's crucial to be aware of online scams. Here are a few warning signs to help you navigate the digital world and spot the gems of good deals from the pitfalls of luring scams.
